Operations Director
Position Summary:
The Carpinteria Community Church (CCC) Operations Director is responsible for ensuring administrative and project support for CCC and the Pastor of CCC. This is an important role that will help bring continuity and care to CCC and its mission. This is an onsite role that requires professional experience. This is a part-time role that could grow into full-time.
Position Mission:
The mission of the Operations Director is to stay three steps ahead of operations and programs at CCC, and at least that many steps ahead of the pastor. This will include tracking administrative details and clearing the path for volunteers and the pastor to make their greatest contributions to our Church. The Operations Director will be a key asset to both volunteers and the pastor by anticipating ministry needs and equipping them to carry out the vision and strategy of CCC so that we can execute the mission of reaching people for Christ.
While repetitive tasks are a part of this position, the tasks assigned can vary from week to week based on the needs of the Church and the Pastor’s schedule. It will be very important that the Operations Director ensures that administrative tasks and projects are completed with efficiency, confidentiality, accuracy, flexibility, and positivity.
Responsibilities:
The Operations Director will have the following primary responsibilities:

Provide administrative support for the Church and Pastor.

Manage the Church’s calendar and scheduling, acting as the point of contact for the Church with Kinderkirk Preschool, ministry partners, and tenant groups.

Provide support to the Pastor and Worship Team in designing, maintaining, and presenting digital slides for Sunday worship services, and other CCC programs.

Lead, in collaboration with the Pastor, the design and maintenance of the Church’s website and social media presence.

Provide receptionist service while in the office, managing email, phone, & voicemail.

Love for Jesus Christ and CCC. Our Operations Director will demonstrate an ongoing and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and naturally and willingly support and contribute to the mission of CCC, its goals, strategies, and overall vision. Maintaining regular attendance at worship services and demonstrating active participation at CCC is also a must.

Attention to Detail. The Operations Director will have attention to detail and accuracy in dealing with task management, project management, administration, and organization.

Quality Communication. The Operations Director must be an excellent communicator, in both written and oral form. This includes proficiency in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This also includes being able to effectively summarize information both in writing and orally on a regular basis. You must also be able to track communication (and be very responsive) across multiple channels without losing important details, such as in-person meetings, written notes and/or memos, text messages, emails, and video calls.

High Level of Discretion. Since our Operations Director will regularly work with confidential information, discretion, and sensitivity are a must.

Team Player. In addition to working directly with the Pastor, the Operations Director will also work with members of the CCC Council and other volunteers and staff members. Collaboration and communication with these team members, maintaining a can-do spirit, and contributing with imagination, creativity, and love are all very important.

Anticipating Needs. As a part of our commitment to enabling our Pastor and volunteer leaders to serve our Church, our Operations Director will strive to anticipate needs and eliminate friction whenever possible. This means being proactive in preparing operations and resources in advance, clearing the path for leadership to make their greatest contributions.

Affinity for Technology. Our Operations Director will be technologically savvy and will not be intimidated to learn new technology. Proficiency, or a willingness to learn, platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Gmail, ProPresenter, social media, etc.
